A course designed to teach students skills essential to the development of a sound job seeking strategy.Ìý The class requires the students to prepare a resume, cover letter, follow-up, and application blank, as well as practice interviewing techniques and learn tips to improve their chances of being successfully employed.

First Year Seminar – GUI1010Ìý(1 credit hour)
Required of all freshmen pursuing a degree. Orients students to college life to make success in college achievable. Designed to increase awareness of resources on campus, teach behavioral expectations of college, and teach skills for academic success, such as note-taking, test-taking, study skills, time management, decision making, and goal setting.
A federal work program administered by ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ offers students the opportunity to be employed on campus. The award received by the student is based on financial need. Students earn $15.00 per hour beginning January 1, 2026, which is paid on a monthly basis. Various positions are offered to students to complement their education with practical job experience.
The Work-Study Application is located in My̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. Log in to your My̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ portal. Under the My Financial Aid Tab, scroll down to theÌýWork-Study Information link on the left side. Open the link andÌýcomplete the Work-Study Application.
The Financial Aid office will determine if you're eligible for the program.ÌýPlease be aware that additional financial aid such as student loans, scholarships, Voc-Rehab, WIOA, etc., may affect your Work-Study eligibility.
